Tutoring Policies

1. Scheduling and Communication

  • Appointments are scheduled based on client needs and tutor availability.
  • Clients can book, reschedule, or cancel appointments through text message or Facebook Messenger.
  • Communication is key! Clients are encouraged to inform the tutor as soon as possible about changes or concerns regarding their sessions.

2. Tutoring Sessions

  • Sessions are tailored to the individual needs of each student.
  • Materials, goals, and plans are discussed with the student (or guardian) prior to sessions to ensure alignment with learning objectives.
  • Sessions are conducted in a quiet, distraction-free space, either in person or via an online platform.

3. Inclusivity and Respect

  • East Texas Tutor Monster is an LGBTQIA+ and neurodivergent-friendly service.
  • Pronouns and preferred names will always be respected.
  • Sessions will incorporate any accommodations necessary to create a supportive and accessible learning experience.
  • Any form of discrimination, harassment, or disrespectful behavior will not be tolerated.

4. Advance Notice for Worksheets and Topics

  • In order to provide the most effective tutoring experience, I kindly request that any worksheets, study materials, or specific topics to be covered in the tutoring session be provided at least 48 hours in advance
  • This allows adequate time for review, preparation, and personalized planning to ensure the highest quality of instruction.
  • If materials or topics are submitted less than 48 hours before the session, I may not be able to fully incorporate them into the session.

5. Cancellation and No-Show Policy

Cancellation Policy

  • If you need to cancel or reschedule, please provide at least 24 hours’ notice.
  • The first three cancellations within 24 hours are penalty-free. After this, we may discuss adjustments to scheduling to better meet your needs.

No-Show Policy

  • If you miss an appointment without providing notice, a $20 no-show fee will be applied to your account.
  • Emergencies will be considered on a case-by-case basis, and the fee may be waived at the tutor’s discretion.

6. Payment and Fees

  • Payment is due at the time of the session.
  • Accepted payment methods include check, PayPal, Venmo, CashApp, or Chime.
  • Any fees (e.g., no-show fees) must be paid before scheduling the next appointment.

7. Confidentiality

  • Student information, including personal details and academic challenges, will be kept confidential.
  • Any sensitive information shared with East Texas Tutor Monster will only be used for the purpose of providing the best possible service.

8. Emergencies and Safety

  • In case of an emergency (e.g., illness, unexpected events), please notify the tutor as soon as possible.
  • If the tutor must cancel due to unforeseen circumstances, clients will be notified promptly, and the session will be rescheduled at the earliest convenience.

9. Client Feedback

  • Feedback is always welcome to ensure the highest quality of service.
